Description

In a world split into factions and ruled by Bug Trainers, your faction, the elusive CHAOS ACOLYTES, seeks to upend reality and cause 10,000 years of darkness.

Game Progress

I made this game as a proof of concept for an idea I wanted to explore - Pokémon with a death mechanic. I'd love any mechanics critiques you have as I'm trying to work out the kinks for a more plot driven game. One question I'm especially interested in was which map was your favorite.

Features

Features:
- An open world with 9 maps to explore.
- 8 bosses scattered across the overworld and an elite 4 accessible once you've defeated them all.
- The world level is tied to your badge number.
- All items are available for sale in a pirate bay.
- All trainers are rematchable.
- A statue on the first map will give you an egg that hatches into a Pokémon of your choice.
- Should be able to get through everything by level 40.
Handmade Features:
- Death added - Pokémon now have a secondary life bar which when emptied will result in a death. Pokémon now have a trust value which will lower when they are exposed to traumatic events. Pokémon with low trust have a small chance to run away and will also disobey orders.
- Also - Gold nugget miner, Fossil resurrection, Statues with unique mechanics, hour long day/night cycle, dye your player character a random colour in the chaos hideout.
- Items may be found while rock smashing, and the credits have an accelerated scroll speed when pressing the action button.
