Description
Since the dawn of Pokémon journeys, every adventure has begun with the guidance of a wise Pokémon Professor. In every laboratory, a dedicated team of scientists—known as Aides—work tirelessly to support their research.
In Pokémon: Oak’s Back-Up, you play as Aidan, a talented young scientist with a deep passion for Pokémon research. Unlike traditional trainers, Aidan has no Pokémon of his own and follows the path of science instead of battling.
One day in Professor Oak’s Laboratory in Pallet Town, the Professor himself assigns Aidan an important task: one of his Aides, Adrienne, has been away on assignment far longer than expected. Known for her relaxed attitude, she often finds herself in trouble—but this time, her delay raises concern. Oak asks Aidan to travel to the Sevii Islands to locate her and bring her back safely.
Before setting off, Aidan is entrusted with one of three special starter Pokémon from the Sinnoh region, marking the beginning of a new journey across the Sevii Islands.
For timeline context, this story takes place two years after GSC/HGSS, and five years after RBY/FRLG, during the period when the Sevii Islands were first introduced.
