Description
The Premise: A Kanto Regional-Variant Twist
This is my first project (Decomp). I really just made this for myself but decided to share. It is a specialized expansion of Pokmon FR centered entirely around Kanto regional variants. The game follows the original story but all trainers have been revamped to have at least one kanto variant. *Game may have some small bugs (like some text and minor graphical bugs), it should not affect playability. Still save often as this is my first game.
Game Progress
The Theme: Standard Kanto Pokémon can be obtained in their Alolan, Galarian, Hisuian, and Paldean forms.
Gen 1 Focus: No non-Kanto species (such a Hisuian Typhlosion) are included in order to preserve a pure, original Gen 1 Kanto theme with a modern regional twist.
Wild & Trade Encounters: Regional forms can be captured in specific context-appropriate wild habitats (e.g., Alolan Sandshrew/Vulpix in Seafoam Islands, Hisuian Voltorb in the Power Plant) or obtained through in-game NPC trades.
The evolutions of Kanto based pokemon are also in the game. Example: Magmar and Rhydon Can be evolved.
If you so wish, mega evolution stones are available on Island 2 of the Sevii island after completing the elite four rematch.
Quality-of-Life (QOL) & Convenience Features
Level 36 Evolutions: Pokémon like Kadabra, Machoke, Haunter, Graveler, and Alolan Graveler now evolve automatically upon reaching Level 36.
Held Item Level-Ups: Trade evolutions requiring items (e.g., Onix holding Metal Coat, Scyther holding Black Augurite) now evolve simply by leveling up to 36 or higher while holding their designated item.
Regional Evolution Energy Zones:Exposing certain Kanto species to localized environmental "energies" triggers their regional evolutions:
Alola Energy Zone (Seafoam Islands & Sevii Islands): The extreme sub-zero temperatures and tropical currents allow standard Exeggcute, Pikachu, and Cubone to evolve into their Alolan forms (via Leaf/Thunder Stones or leveling up at night).
Galar Energy Zone (Cinnabar Pokémon Mansion): The industrial toxicity in the burned mansion allows Koffing to evolve into Galarian Weezing at Level 35+.
HGSS pokedex
EXP share, Auto run and auto repel can be switched on and off in options.
Legendary event tickets are unlocked by repeatedly defeating the Elite Four:
1st Hall of Fame Clear: Rewards the AuroraTicket (Birth Island for Deoxys).
2nd Hall of Fame Clear: Rewards the MysticTicket (Navel Rock for Lugia & Ho-Oh).
3rd Hall of Fame Clear: Rewards the Old Sea Map (Mew spawns in Viridian Forest).
Note: To earn the 2nd and 3rd ticket, your party must contain at least one Pokémon that does not already have the Champion Ribbon!
Gym Leader Rematches:
Sequential Unlocking & Progression
Post-game rematches are unlocked once you defeat the Champion Rival after the Sevii islands are completed (The elite four rematch). Start with brock and challenge the others after. The game will guide you accordingly.
Indefinite Rebattles
Once you defeat a Gym Leader's initial rematch, they can be challenged indefinitely.
The Giovanni Rocket Hideout Showdown - Just a small postgame story about mewtwo. The giovanni postgame rematch is the hardest in the game.
Note that the Elite Four Rematches and Gym Leader Rematches contain teams of 6 with quite high level pokemon in some cases well over level 80.
