Welcome to the world of Pokémon Banana!

The classic Kanto region has undergone a bizarre, yellow transformation. Every single Pokémon in existence has suddenly turned into a literal banana named banana. Nobody in the region knows why it happened, but the residents have learned to adapt to their new potassium-filled lifestyle.

Embark on a familiar yet incredibly surreal journey as you battle, capture, and explore a world entirely overrun by bananas.

Known Issues & Bugs

Due to the GBA's strict 12-character display limit for items, some longer "Nana" items may be slightly truncated in menus to prevent text-wrapping glitches, but they remain fully functional.

Features

  • 🍌 Every Pokémon is "banana"
    • All Pokémon species names have been changed to banana, and their front, back, and shiny sprites have been replaced with banana graphics. Every encounter, battle, and Dex entry is a banana.
  • 💬 A Fully "Banana-fied" World
    • Every single mention of the word "Pokémon" in overworld scripts, trainer battles, signposts, story events, and system menus has been globally replaced with "bananas" or "BANANAS".
  • 🎒 Upgrade to "Nana" Gear
    • All classic "Poké" prefixes have been renamed to "Nana". You will shop at Nana Marts, distract wild bananas with Nana Dolls, and catch them using Nana Balls (including Great, Ultra, Master, and Safari variants).
  • 🐉 The Legendary Banana: Hakuba
    • Can you find him? If so, you are now playing on easy mode.
  • 🎨 Custom Visuals
    • Custom Title Screen: A custom title screen welcoming you to the world of Pokémon Banana.
    • Intro Sprite Replacement: The tutorial help screen has been modified, replacing the original Pikachu graphic in the top-left corner with a custom banana sprite.
  • ✨ Safely Boosted Shiny Odds (1 in 256)
    • The ROM's internal shiny calculation threshold has been safely increased to the maximum safe limit of 1 in 256 (0.39% chance). You will find shiny bananas far more frequently than in a retail game, with zero risk of ROM instability or crashes.
