Description

I’m back with another release I’ve been working on for quite some time. After the positive reception to my first project, Contemporary Emerald, I wanted to share the next step in my journey—this time built using the HeartGold upgrade framework, hg-engine.

Many in the community still feel that Generation 4 development is far behind Generation 3 in terms of fan projects, but this release is meant to challenge that idea by showcasing what’s possible in a fully playable format. The goal is to inspire others to explore and create their own Generation 4 projects.

Introducing HeartGold Generations—a project that brings together Pokémon from Generations 1 through 9, alongside modern mechanics such as nature changing, Mega Evolution, and various quality-of-life improvements.

The aim is to blend modern systems with a classic-style foundation, creating a familiar yet updated experience that highlights how far Gen 4-style development can be pushed.
