Description

Are you here to explore Glazed, one of the best classic hacks?

Having won several awards and the top of many "top 10" lists, this a fan favorite for a reason. Including new updates to add features, fixes and standards of modern hacks, here's one of the best hacks available out there (as a binary Emerald hack, before Pokeemerald was ever a thing). Whether you are playing for the first time, or revisiting, I hope you enjoy Glazed.

Game Progress

Today’s the day you turn twelve years old, which means today is the day you get your first Pokémon. But if you were expecting an uneventful journey across the Tunod region, you’d be dead wrong. A mysterious power is sending the Pokémon world and the real world on a collision course. A mysterious team lurks around the ruins of ancient Tunod, with a mysterious purpose. You’ll meet allies in three roaming trainers from the Johto region, as well as a Scarfed Pikachu hell-bent on revenge. Will you be able to handle it?

Known Bugs

  • Red Level:
    • Hopefully none now (game crashes, story being messed up, etc.)
  • Yellow Level:
    • Timburr family, Druddigon, Black/White Kyurem, Gen 6 starters, Mega Pokémon, and event battle Pokémon exist in limbo slots between Celebi and Treecko, causing Unown cry and corrupted Pokédex entries.
    • Possibility of Bulbasaur Eggs when breeding these Pokémon, rarely turning into a Bad EGG (Mega Pokémon can also breed).
    • Froakie and Gurdurr will crash the game if caught (same for special Mew and Pikachu, but only if extra Master Balls are cheated and used).
    • Safari Zone bait box may spawn multiple shiny Pokémon, which become Bad EGGs when caught.
    • Route 47 & 48 reuse Battle Frontier limited map-based start menu — cannot save on these maps.
    • Rain/Sun doesn’t affect Water/Fire moves (older PSS system conflict).
    • AI doesn’t recognize Fairy types correctly.
    • Type effectiveness color feature doesn’t work with Fairy types.
  • Green Level:
    • Inventor reappears in the second town after his event until map reload.
    • Player warps on top of an NPC when traveling between Rankor.
    • Some Pokémon show black text instead of green (mostly fixed).
    • Boat on Haunted Isle can be walked through after entering cave/Pokémon Center (map loading issue).
    • Whitney visible before entering Jasmine’s gym.
    • Pikachu still glitches after generator is turned off during second encounter.
    • Lost swimsuit spot can be pinged indefinitely.
    • Bench NPCs in Glenwood pop into existence when entering from the east.
    • Coolu Cave has clipping tiles near stairs (layering issue).
    • NPC clipping in Spacial Sea (likely too many sprites aligned).
    • Rankor Champion and Soheal use Blake’s sprite in intro animation.
    • Trades and Kyurem form change have visual glitches.
    • Some NPCs wander off during dialogue.
    • Cave items after Cianwood respawn after beating Johto Elite Four.
    • Fisherman above Goldenrod gives unlimited Feebas after winning.
    • Haunted Isle hiker healing dims screen progressively.
    • Doctor Friendship may call Pokémon “buffer260” instead of its name.
    • Sign text boxes change color during weather.
    • Status tiles affect immune Pokémon, including fainted Pokémon and Eggs.
    • Venoshock effect may not work.
