Description

Jameyka is a relatively small island region, secluded from other regions by the vast ocean. The nearest region is Hoenn, but getting there takes about a week by sea. What's more, because of strong water currents, travel is only possible during certain parts of the year. However, these circumstances did not prevent this region from becoming a quite popular tourist destination, thanks to its well-preserved nature and the annual Jam Festival. It's also the place where your Grandpa lives. After many years without seeing each other, your Dad decides it's time for a visit. There is some tension in the air, but, what’s more important, there is the Festival Trial! Helping your grandpa fulfil his lifelong dream will require you to gather ingredients from the Trial Captains. Not only will you take your first steps as a Pokémon Trainer, but you will also be able to explore a new region, learn about your family history, and meet new friends.

More Details After a dialogue-heavy beginning, the game becomes open world. You can go whichever way you like and challenge the Trial Captains in any order. The story is rather slow-paced and has a slice-of-life feel. Some areas are blocked off, but you can clear them using HM Items (though doing so is not necessary to complete the game). The levels of wild encounters and Trainers change depending on how many Trial Captains you’ve beaten. We aimed for making battles challenging, but not extremely difficult. All battles are double battles in set style and with no healing items allowed. There are new Trainer classes - the weaker ones will battle you on sight, while the stronger ones will ask if you want to fight. A major change we made is that you don’t get (or lose) poKe by battling, although many trainers will give you useful items. The best way to make poKe is by exploring and selling items. We didn’t modify the stats nor types of standard Pokémon, but we did adjust learnsets and evolution methods for balancing reasons. We tried to include all the changes and helpful information in the game (for example, via NPC dialogues), but if you want to check anything, there will be a link to the proper document in the game folder.
